As Gaby Cornier stepped onto the court at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, she stared into the crowd she once dreamt about playing in front of. The Florida volleyball team was gearing up to play its first home match of the season, and all Cornier envisioned were the young girls of Puerto Rico watching her.
She stepped up to serve the ball deep into her opponent's side. As she did, she caught sight of young girls smiling and cheering, thanking her for her hard work and dedication to the beloved game of volleyball.
